Prominent Christian Minister Calls for Murder

What Would Jesus Do with Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez?
Certainly Not what Pat Robertson Calls For.

In Matthew 5:44, Jesus says: "But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45that you may be sons of your Father in heaven.

In the Sixth Commandment, as recorded in Exodus 20:13, the Lord God Jehovah commands "Thou shalt not kill."

On the 700 Club, Pat Robertson says Assassinate Hugo Chavez:

Religious broadcaster Pat Robertson called on Monday for the assassination of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, calling him a "terrific danger" to the United States.

Robertson, founder of the Christian Coalition of America and a former presidential candidate, said on "The 700 Club" it was the United States' duty to stop Chavez from making Venezuela a "launching pad for communist infiltration and Muslim extremism."

Chavez has emerged as one of the most outspoken critics of President Bush, accusing the United States of conspiring to topple his government and possibly backing plots to assassinate him. U.S. officials have called the accusations ridiculous.

"You know, I don't know about this doctrine of assassination, but if he thinks we're trying to assassinate him, I think that we really ought to go ahead and do it," Robertson said. "It's a whole lot cheaper than starting a war ... and I don't think any oil shipments will stop."

This is a Christian? This is an American? No, this is a religious fascist. Can Pat Robertson not be arrested for this? Can he not be defrocked by the Church? Is he really a Christian, let alone a minister of his faith, when he openly calls for murder to suit his ends? And says that a man's death won't cause the oil to stop?

Once again, follow the Bible if it suits your purpose, disregard if you have a 'better' plan.
The Reasonable Rant reports. You decide.

I think it's one of the smartest comments anyone has dared to come out with. He DOES have a point.

I think the US has muddled with Central and South American governments enough in the not too distant past. Maybe in the name of "freedom", which we seem to be champions of these days, we should allow presidents of other countries to criticize whomever they choose...even if it is *gasp* our president.

Poopoo, the only point that can be inferred from Mr. Robertson’s statement, founder of the Christian Coalition, is that he is a hypocrite. Therefore, it was not a smart thing to say. He is a religious extremist no different from the Muslims he is trying to defend against. If you keep making posts like this last one, poopoo, everyone will think that your handle is what your head is filled with.

Oh Sweet c.c.:
So, that is your opinion and we are all entitled to those. It's assholes like you that turn your own opinions into insults that cause most of the trouble in the world. Are you a closet Muslim, Sweet c.c.?

I am sorry for insinuating that your head is filled with poopoo. I just don’t understand how anyone with sense enough to type could think that what Mr. Robertson said was smart.

You must be mentally handicapped and it is wrong to poke fun at people with lesser abilities. So once again, I apologize.
